We had a very productive weekend. Andrew finished the stairs, those stairs.... ugh they have been unfinished since mid may (see previous post about installing hardwood floors). He did a really great job with them, they look amazing he worked his butt off. All we have left, we meaning Andrew is to finish a little bit of trim around the fireplace.
We also started the upstairs spare bedroom this weekend. Striped and re-stained the window seat. We have a ton of projects and organizing to do before the baby comes. Our goal is to try and finish as much as possible before the holidays hit.
I cooked a couple yummy meals this weekend. My parents grow a lot of veggies and they dropped off fresh cucumbers, and corn. Since it was hot, we had Lot's of salads and a little protein on the grill.
Cucumber Salad: Sliced cucumbers with rice vinegar, salt and pepper. Marinated in the fridge for about 45 minutes so they remain crispy.
Tomato Salad: Fresh tomatoes (either garden or farmers market), marinated for as long as you can with oil, rice wine vinegar, garlic, mustard (powder or dijon). Family favorite, its like dessert in our house!
Green salad: Butter lettuce, apples, green onion. Salad dressing: Oil/Rice vinegar
We purchased this bassinet on craigslist for the baby. Well our current baby Zoe, has been itching to get in the top portion since we brought it home. Last night we caught her sleeping in the bottom of it.
Belly Pic: 17 weeks even.
