Just call me the nap sergeant!

In the last week I have become the nap sergeant. Logan was having a fussy period which seemed to last from about 3pm-9pm everyday. When I say fussy, I mean screaming his head off for hours. I finally realized it was because he was overtired and not napping as often as he should. At his pediatric ans appointment on Monday the pediatrician agreed and said he has to nap every 1.5 hours. So this week I made sure Logan was napping every hour and a half. It's working! He is a much happier baby!! No more screaming for hours. But it is a challenge, Logan also eats every 2 hours so he basically wakes up, eats, diaper change, looks around for 10 minutes and then back to a nap. He spends most of the day in some type of baby carrier where he naps the best. Right now, he loves the ergo, and I love it too. It has an infant insert that we will use until he gets bigger. First Bath

Logan had his first bath on Saturday night. We had to wait patiently for his umbilical stump to fall off and it finally did on Thursday. The bath was a success, he cried when we undressed him but once he was in the water he loved it. Of course taking him out of the water caused him to cry, and he was upset for a good hour after and just whimpered while being held. Poor little guy!

3 Weeks Old

Logan is 3 weeks old today, and slowly but surely Andrew and I are getting the hang of being parents. It is seriously hard, I knew it was going to be hard work, but knowing about it before doesn't prepare you for it!

Just today Logan started taking a pacifier. OMG it is wonderful, he used to just use me as a pacifier but now he is actually taking one. We tried every single pacifier and finally found one he likes called the gumdrop.

I have been attending a moms group through Stanford for a couple weeks now. It has been so great to talk about parenting and get ideas from other moms and ask the question, Is this normal?

Anyway here is a picture of Logan today asleep in his hammock which is extremely rare by the way!

Logan is doing well

Logan is doing well, but not doing a whole lot to update about. He eats, sleeps, poops and sometimes he is awake long enough for us to play with him. We are starting to learn his cues/cries better. When he has gas, he makes the cutest smile.

Here are some recent pictures we had taken with a photographer last Thursday:
