Let the countdown begin!

4 weeks until we find out if baby H/P is a boy or girl.

Hopefully the baby will cooperate and show us the goods, or lack of goods I hope! The Dr said since I have been so sick, the only thing that can be growing in there is a boy. Hum we shall see

Today I had an OB appointment, and we heard the heart beat for the first time. Up until now we have seen the heart on the u/s but haven't heard it. It was a really cute sound! I was also excited to have only gained two lbs since my last appointment (4 weeks ago) yeah! Hopefully I can keep up a healthy weight gain, but whatever my body does it does. Dr said I can partake in any exercise I want, as long as I can carry on a conversation. I'm so excited, I can't wait to take spinning class again, I just need to sign up at a new gym with child care that I trust for later.

Vail Wedding Weekend

Andrew and I just returned from a long weekend in Vail Colorado for my friend Lindsay's wedding. Don't worry folks, morning sickness, or shall I say all day sickness was still in affect. Much to the disappointment of the guy sitting next to us on the plane. ha ha

The wedding was very pretty, and it was so nice to be there to watch my friend get married. Of course I cried when I saw her walk down the isle. She just looked so beautiful! Linds was such a trooper through the whole wedding, it started to rain and hail, the guests popped open the umbrellas but the bride and groom stood there through it all and said there vows. It was not a traditional wedding, but I loved it. It was original, new age, hippy, earthy, whatever you want to call it. It totally fit the bride and groom.

One more pictures me at 14 weeks pregnant!

Although we had a great time and it would not have missed it for anything, I would have to say I would not travel to high altitude again while pregnant. Especially since I haven't quite felt like myself yet, and morning sickness still rears its ugly head. Being in the high altitude actually intensified my morning sickness. So pregnant ladies if your reading this, don't plan babymoons to Lake Tahoe, or anywhere else with high altitude.
Baby Size this week is a lemon, Your baby, now as long as a lemon, weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. (Length: 3 1/2 inches, head to bottom.)

Random Acts of Pukeness

Lately I have been having random acts of puke, no warning just oops there I go again. I'm 13 weeks today, I sorta though maybe this would be over soon??

People love to tell me, this means you’re having such a wonderful healthy baby if you’re so sick! Hum... I wonder if they had morning sickness, my guess is No, they did not. They heard that lame story from someone and keep passing it on to others.

At least I'm not puking everyday anymore, cheers to that!

Baby is the size of a medium shrimp and weighs almost and ounce

Last week it was the size of a lime... I think it might be shrinking!

Something's baking in my oven, and it's not bread

It's a little baby : )

Little baby McLeod is growing so fast. I can't believe I'm at 12 weeks today. My friend Jennie was such a trooper and accompanied me to a special appointment called an NT scan to check for Down syndrome. We got to see the baby move around the screen; it had the hiccups which was really cute. What wasn't cute was making me wait 45 minutes in the waiting room with a full bladder.

This is my first post about the baby, and it sure won't be the last. I haven't felt the baby move yet, I think I have a long way to go. We might find out the sex, not sure yet. And yes it will be a very medicated child birth. Very scared about that part!!

The picture on the left is from 8/4/08, NT scan. It's a little dark but you get the idea.

Twice in one week!

Hey y'all!
I need your opinion... I bought this painting yesterday at Cost Plus. Andrew doesn't love it, but I do. He says it's fine if we keep it though which is awesome. The room is starting to have a very masculine feel, the rug, wall color; the TV. So the painting will serve as a focal point away from the TV. It will also add color and character to the room. The TV is going on the blue wall, it's big.

Thanks for your opinions. : )

Cooking update:

I made a fruit crumble for a coworkers lunch shower. It was a hit, and it's decently healthy. Not sure how many WW points.

Reciepe:

Any fruits you love. Today'sFruit:
Raspberries, blue berries and strawberries
Cut up fruit and place them in a cooking dish depending on size of group.

Bake on 375 till the sides boil and toping is brown
Serve plain or with frozen yogurt/ice cream

Update... finally!

I haven’t been very good about keeping up with my blog. Maybe its because my blog is called Lindsy’s kitchen and I haven’t been cooking very much : )

A lot has been going on in the McLeod house we have been working on a remodel in our downstairs living room. It has been so much work but very rewarding to see our handy work.
Here are some pictures of the remodel:

Basically we ripped up all the tile around the fireplace and entryway, and pulled up all the carpet. We layed down the slate around the fireplace, repainted the fireplace, and repainted the mantel. Painted the blue wall, (we love it!!) and last but not least we layed the bamboo hardwood floors. Oh and we pulled up all the base boards, sanded them and repainted them. We still have a lot of work to to before Andrew's mom and aunt visit next week. We are really trying to finish things up, they haven't visited since the wedding (oct 06)

Andrew's degree in Math plus his extreme attention to detail is the only reason why this project has worked. I love my husband.

This year we spent New Years Eve with our friends Megan and Whit. We love hanging out, drinking wine, and eating good food with them. We decided to fondu, Andrew and I brought baked crab and a yummy appetizer.
