Summer Beach House

We just returned from a great summer vacation! We rented a beach house for 4 nights. The house was close to the beach, and the location was about an hours drive for us from home. It was perfect for the kids. They loved it and didn't want to leave. The house fit the four of us, it was two blocks from the beach and had a hot tub in the backyard plus a place for the kids to ride bikes. We went from the beach back to the house, and lots of time in the hot tub.

We mostly hit the beach everyday. I rented a wet suit and body board hoping to take the kids out in the ocean without freezing! All was going well with Logan, but he hit a wave at the wrong angle (head on) and he was done. We did get him to try again a few days later but it was really quite a challenge.

Andrew is a good hole digger!

finally after lots of crying, very proud body boarder!

Hanging out at the house, the kids found lots of games to play. Logan and Andrew played chess together, Logan is now obsessed!
My parents also rented a house close by so we had dinners together, and even a date night one night!
Kids rode bikes to pleasure point to watch the surfers

Our last night we took the kids to the boardwalk. During the summer weekday months, the boardwalk runs specials. If you bring a pepsi can you can get a huge discount off tickets. We went on a wed and got wrist bands for everyone for $13.00 each , we could ride all the rides as many times as we wanted. Kids were in heaven, they love the boardwalk. Even more then they love disneyland. We rode on the log ride 2x, on the first round Logan started to freak out right at the top of the big drop. But once we hit the bottom he screamed that he wanted to go again! Andrew loves rides and doesn't get sick thankfully, he took the kids on most of the big ones and anything that spins!

On our way home, we wanted to drive up the coast on hwy 1. It was just a little longer drive but very beautiful. We stopped at the pigeon point lighthouse, and Pescardero for lunch. The boys and I are going camping soon by Pescadero and wanted to scope out some lunch spots. We had lunch at duarte's tavern and had some amazing food. Picked up a yummy artichoke bread and pie at norms market. All were so good.
