36 Week Update

Yep 36 weeks! It feels really good to be so close. I have to say, I'm not quite ready yet. We have everything we need for the baby, but mentally I could use these extra weeks. I had a Dr's appointment yesterday (1.19) The Dr did a test for group strep B which is not a harmful bacteria to adults, but to babies it can be very harmful. If you are group strep B positive, you have to be hooked up to antibiotics when your in labor, which is no big deal. The Dr checked the size of the baby, baby L is measuring at about 5.75-6lbs. Baby L is measuring right on target to be in the high 7lbs to low 8lbs at birth around 40 weeks. She also started weekly internal exams to check if I have started to dilate, and I haven't. (good news!)

according to babycenter.com
Your baby, almost 6 pounds and still packing on the pounds at a rate of about an ounce a day, is comparable to a crenshaw melon in size. (Length: more than 18 1/2 inches, head to heel.)
