Photgraphy

My quest for 2013 get to know my camera, be able to pick it up and know what settings are without thinking about it. I have been shooting pictures only in manual, learning as much as I can. Some things are clicking, but im a slow learner, I watch lots of youtube videos. I just signed up for a online class, Shooting 101 through Clickin Moms. I am SO excited!! I hear this class will be awesome and really helpful to reach my goal of getting to know my camera.
A few pictures from the last few weeks:
I had a handful of pictures from our hike today that had this dreamy look. I fwd it to my friend who is into photography and asked How did I get this?? She said something about backlight and then I got lost :-) Love all the pics with this dreamy look to them! Yeah for dumb luck!

Plexiglass Project

After visiting the Bay Area Discovery museum, Andrew and I were motivated to build a Plexiglass art station. Andrew was so awesome and built it over the three day weekend. He got inspiration from looking at pictures on the net of other art stations, blogs etc.  The boys love it, and have so much fun with it.

Play!

We tried out a new spot this morning in downtown Los Altos called Play! The space is incredible, packed with everything. We spent two hours, and Logan proclaimed, " I love it here" LOL Some of the highlights:

They have a life size pin board, Dylan spent many minutes sticking his face, hands, body in it.

Logan put on a few performances

Reading area, light box, and more magna tiles then they knew what to do with

Bay Area Discovery Museum

We love the Bay Area Discovery Museum ! I wish we lived closer, I would get a membership and go as much as possible. The exhibits are amazing, the location on Baker beach is so beautiful. It was a family outing on a Saturday, and we made a day of it.
We started out in the tot section. They have a moving stream with plastic fish inside. The boys played for a good 45min in the freezing cold, they didn't care.
Then off to the art area, there were many exhibits for hands on fun. Dylans favorite spot is the plexiglass paint area. After seeing it, andrew promised he would make one! They had blubber out to make fun shapes, and lots of other cool projects.

Fishy lips painting face=hilarious
After many fun hours, we headed to the beach. Great family day!

Magna TIles

Magna Tiles are consistently the only toy we have that both the boys play with every single day. I can't believe how much they cost, but wow they are worth it. We started out with the 32 piece set last year and with Logans birthday is coming up next month, I'm going to get another box to add to the collection. The building options are endless!

Yesterday we were filling them with dyed pasta which turned out to be a huge mess, oops. But still fun and kept the boys occupied after nap time.

Many faces of the boys

I have been playing around with my camera a lot. Really trying to reach my goal of becoming comfortable with it! I'm planning on taking an online class in February to really get the basics down. I even downloaded the free trial of light room but its really overwhelming, one thing at a time... I have also been searching pinterest for a few ideas on displaying pictures. I'm working on fixing up the boys room, the walls are still empty! Some of the pics I have taken lately:

I have been trying to snap pictures of these cuties doing their thing. Toddlers are not the easiest subjects and they won't do anything you ask! In order to get genuine laughs I have to say ridiculous things. Its a LOT of potty talk. I say things like, Farts, and toots... you get the pictures. I'm not proud of it but hey it works to get a cute expression.

I'm so excited for Logan to start T-Ball class! I'm braking my no classes till hes 5 rule, and hoping for the best. He really loves to play baseball, Andrew was throwing the wiffle ball to him, and he was loving it!
