Tired

We should be allowed to nap at work, I think I'm going to have to work something out. We have a teen lounge with a couch, I might need to start having a nap during my lunch hour to make it through the day.

Even though I had 4 days off of work, we were so busy. We hosted Thankgiving for 15, it was much much much more work then I remembered. Everyone said the food was good, and it was nice to see everyone. We went to a 1 year old b-day party Friday, and I hosted a book club dinner Sunday night for 7. I think I need another 4 days off to recover from the 4 days I just had off. I'm going to start saying no to things, as lame as it sounds, pregnancy is hard and I'm exhauseted, I need to take better care of myself.

Hospital Tour

On Monday night Andrew and I walked up to the hospital where we plan to deliver for the hospital tour. During our tour L&D was really busy, every room was full, we didn't get to see inside any of the "suites" because every single suite had someone in it, but that was ok with us. We learned about the hospital policies, parking, guests in the delivery room etc. We saw my OB during the tour, I'm sure she had at least one delivery going on if not more. I'm really happy we went with the practice we did, I'm guaranteed my regular OB to delivery the baby, and I like her and trust her a lot.


The only bad news about our hospital is we don't have Internet access on our floor, you have to go down to the lobby. Maybe I can get Andrew to do a blog update for me, but you might have to wait a little for that first blog update after the baby.


Next week we start our two night Child Birth prep class. It's led by a Doula right in the OB's office I go to. The Doula seems really spunky, and I hear the class is entertaining. We are also taking a one night infant care class next week. I'm looking forward to both classes, I have no experience with infants, neither does Andrew. I know we will figure it out, but it will be good to do the classes together. I might sign up for one more class for us, breastfeeding. But I'm going to wait till January.



As I get bigger and bigger and less comfortable standing, Andrew helps around the house more and more. He is so sweet. Every night he does the dishes, and I don't even ask him to! We folded a load of baby laundry last night. Both of us can't believe we are going to have a baby to put in these tiny little cloths and tiny little socks.

Shower weekend

According to Andrew all I did was shower this weekend. I had my shower on Saturday hosted by the lovely Jennie and Lauren, and I also attended a double shower for two friends on Sunday.
My shower on Saturday was so fun, I loved seeing everyone that was able to attend. We played some great games: guess the baby food, guess the candy bar in the diaper (crowd favorite) and celebrity trivia. My friends were so nice, we didn't play how big is Lindsy getting game. I passed! and I'm in the 3rd trimester

I had a Dr's appointment this morning, everything is going well. I passed my 1 hour gestational diabetes test. I was a little worried about it, given my family history. I also found out that I had a little "growth" spurt in the last 4 weeks i.e I gained a little too much weight. I'm going to work on not indulging on high calorie foods, and increasing my walks at night with Andrew. My next appointment is in 3 weeks (3o weeks), and after that I start going every 2 weeks till I'm 36 weeks, then every week.

On Sunday I had a family shower at my Grandmothers house. It was so amazing, it really did feel like a shower of gifts. Everyone was very generous, the baby is so loved already. The baby recieved lot's of cute little outfits, and baby things. My mom knitted the cutest little blue hat I have ever seen. It's tiny, I can't believe his head will be that small. Hopefully I can share some pictures from the shower my sister took later this week. My friends Jennie and Lauren are hosting a shower this Sunday. I can't wait to see everyone!

27 Weeks

Glider, check

I craigslisted (I think I made up that word) an awesome glider this weekend. It was only used for about 6 months, retails for $450 and I got it for $175. Andrew took a couple pictures this morning. The first one I decided I looked too fat, Andrew's response, you are fat your pregnant. Aw thanks honey, take another one please and make sure I don't look fat in it!

26 weeks even

Charlie horse cramps, oh my so much worse when you are pregnant. This morning I woke up screaming in pain clutching my leg. I think it's time to pick up some Magnesium Gluconate recommended my my doctor to help prevent pregnancy related leg cramps.


When I was not pregnant, those bare belly pictures used to kinda freak me out... and I said, I was not going to be one of "those" people who posted them on their blog. Well, never say never right? I am truly fascinated by my growing belly, and my stomachs ability to stretch to accommodate this life growing inside. So if you were like me, don't look at the picture!


Here I am, 25 weeks 3 days pregnant.

25 weeks!

If and I mean IF I were to go into labor right now, the baby would have at least a 50% chance of survival. Being so close to Lucille Packard Children's hospital, I heard the rate of survival is even better then 50%. It's a little morbid to think about that, but it's also exciting to think the baby is growing and his ability to live in the outside world is increasing. Don't get any ideas in there baby boy McLeod, your parents need you to stay safe and sound for awhile longer.


Most people can tell I'm pregnant by now. But some can't, which really shocks me. Within the last couple days, I had to tell people I was standing in front of that I am pregnant. And then there is my favorite waitress at Higuma who told me how huge I was on Saturday night when we were eating dinner. " You must have big baby in there" She's so cute
